When life starts feeling too heavy on the shoulders, I run to the beach! And this time it lead me and my friends to Almalin Beach Resort.

To tell you honestly, I was a bit hesitant when my friend picked Almalin Beach Resort as our destination. I like "stalking" the place first before a trip and searching the web for the resort just didn't help much, I couldn't find any updated article. But then I thought it's never really about the place, it's the people you're with! And so we head out for Batangas early Saturday morning expecting to arrive at the place for Lunch.

🚗 We were able to reach the destination with the help of Waze. Although a bit of warning, Waze will help you get there faster with shortcuts and cutting through traffic, which means a bumpier road sometimes. Stupidly, we didn't check the how-to-get-there before leaving and ended up with a roller coaster road. Would surely not recommend this option if it was still dark or the weather's not that good.

📎 Click here for a more details on how to get there.
Almalin Beach Resort is only a few minutes away from the city of Lobo were you will be able to find a cafe, convenient stores, liquor store, souvenir shops, and the market!
Check-in time at the resort is 2pm, if you arrived earlier you have to pay 350php per head to stay at the vicinity. Since we arrived earlier than expected we decided to use our time to go to the market first to do a little shopping, and then we stayed at the cafe. When afternoon came we went back to the resort for the check-in.

Here's the truth about Almalin Beach Resort. The whole resort itself is not that big but enough to accommodate all the guests. The beach front only stretches a few meters away from the water and it was too rocky for me.

In my stalking, I read a few reviews about the rooms that said it was a bit small, but when we got there I was actually a bit surprised. Five of us occupied Maricaban and the other two stayed at a Kubo Bungalow, none of us got disappointed.

📎 Updated rates:

The rooms were properly equipped with:
✔ Air conditioner
✔ Electric fan
✔ Television (we never got to use)
✔ Built-in cabinets
✔ Mini fridge
✔ Towels for each guest
✔ Soft pillows and blankets (very comfy!)
✔ Hot and cold showers
✔ Bidet!
✔ Free Wi-Fi

Everything worked well although the mini fridge might need a bit of an upgrade since half of our ice melted. The Wi-Fi in our room at Maricaban was also slow, I think it was because of the location of the room.

Each room has their own patio that also has fans and good lighting for the night. We did experience blackouts the night we stayed, but I think it was because of the storm coming in. No worries though, it never lasted for more than 5mins.

We spend most of the days and the night hanging at the patio just having fun! Eating Lunch, dinner, and breakfast together. Loved that it has its own fan outside and you'll never have a problem looking for an outlet.

In the middle of the resort is a small kitchen where anyone can use for cooking and cleaning up dishes. The guests do have to pay extra for the gas and if you want to use their pots you have to pay extra for the dish washer. We cleaned everything ourselves so we get to use the pots all day and didn't have to pay extra for it.

📎 If you forgot to buy a few items, you could ask their staffs for assistance. They have most of what we needed, from cooking oil to cold beer ðŸ˜‰

And lastly, an indoor pool for those who prefer a dip in a not so salty water. The water was too cold for me though. Would have loved to have a dip at night but it was freezing, even in the morning the water was cold.

📎 Take note that the beach side is open only until 7pm, and the pool until 10pm.

The resort also offers some activities for you and your friends like Beach Volleyball, Fishing lines, Kayaking, and Bangka Tours. But if you want to relax more, they also offer a full body massage.

Obviously, me and my friends had fun! Just what we needed.

For those close to my heart and know how much this trip means to me, thank you for celebrating this day with us! You are all so special to me 💖

A quick trip to the beach never fails to make my heart sing!
And just a week ago, La Luz Beach Resort won my heart 💘

I've never been a fan of overcrowded beaches, luckily La Luz isn't one of those. We got to enjoy the place and each others company. A perfect place to relax and reconnect with yourself or with the people you're with.

The rooms are affordable and reasonably priced. It's very spacious and everything is well maintained. I think it's a good idea that there's no Television inside, this way you get to enjoy the activities they have or just bond with each other!
We did have a few minor complaints, but it never got in the way of us enjoying the place!

↣room rates↢

You might be shocked with the mandatory meal package that costs PHP1700+ per head (for overnight stay). This includes lunch upon arrival, PM snack, dinner, and breakfast the next day. While their Day Tour rates include lunch and PM snacks. But don't worry, all meals are served buffet style.

The mandatory buffet meals give you a chance to maximize your stay. No need to worry what you'll be eating for dinner or where you're going to cook. And unlike the reviews we've read about the food they serve, it was surprisingly good! I personally love their breakfast and the salad station!

Take note of their CLAYGO policy.

La Luz may not have that powdery white sand but the ocean is very clean and the water's crystal clear! You'll literally be swimming with the fishes!

The whole beach is surrounded by nature. The dining area even has a waterfall!
If you'll like to relax in the afternoon and enjoy the view, you can find open cabanas and beach chairs all over the beach stretch.

The resort offers lots of activities for adults and children, from biking to snorkeling to ending the night with a bonfire! You can also have a drink at their bar that serves varieties of food and alcoholic drinks until 1AM.

↣list of activities↢

Quick tip: You can ask the lifeguards/staffs for a free use of their lifevest! Safety first everyone, especially the kids!

A few notes/reminders
✎ A++ for their security!
✎ Pets are allowed.
✎No swimming pool.
✎ They have their own parking lot, no need to worry about that!
✎They have very courteous staff.. and lots of them 😆
✎Good Wifi connection.

Honestly, a day wasn't enough to enjoy everything La Luz has to offer! I wish we could have stayed longer, definitely will be back here again! 💖
